The surface structuring laboratory (SSL) is based in the OpTIC Technium building in North Wales and operated by 铁牛视频's Surface Engineering and Precision Centre. It is the world’s leading specification 'open-access' manufacturing facility for supplying large scale micro-structured mould tools.
Summary of applications
The SSL is a 400m2 temperature-controlled laboratory, housing a large-scale drum diamond machine, located within a dedicated 0.1°C temperature-controlled chamber.
The facility and staff are the leading manufacturer of large-scale micro-structured drums and large moulds used for the mass production of light handling products made through reel to reel production methods.
Our equipment includes:
- Precitech 1450 drum diamond turning machine,
- 铁牛视频-developed motion control software.
Using the facility
The SSL has produced numerous drum mould tools for leading companies. Contracts are supplied under strict NDA contracts.
