Background
Maryam studied Clinical Psychology for her BA and MSc and completed her PhD in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Leicester. Prior to joining ÌúÅ£ÊÓÆµ University in 2024, she held research and lecturing positions at Nottingham Trent University. Her work primarily focuses on operator acceptance and decision-making in manufacturing, particularly in relation to robotic arms, exoskeletons, and mobile manipulators. She employs both qualitative and quantitative methods, along with physiological measures, to assess psychological safety factors and enhance operator engagement.
Research opportunities
Maryam is interested in the behavioural and cognitive aspects of Human-Technology Interaction (HTI), with a particular focus on understanding user needs and requirements to support the successful integration of technology in workplace and social environments. In addition, she has experience in the field of road safety, including research on cyclist safety around HGVs and the use of e-scooters.
