Background

I am a Senior Lecturer in Lightweight Materials and Structures. My research interests lie in notched failure, strength scaling, sustainable composites, Machine Learning and Automated Manufacturing of Advanced Composites. Before joining ÌúÅ£ÊÓƵ University, I was a Senior Lecturer in Aerospace Structures at the University of West of England (UWE Bristol) since 2021, a Visiting Research Fellow at the Bristol Composites Institute and a Visiting Fellow of the University of Tokyo. Before 2021, I was a Senior Research Associate at the University of Bristol where I was also awarded my PhD in Aerospace Engineering in 2015.

I am currently contributing to two EU Clean Aviation projects CRYOSTAR and HEAVEN. I led a work package in the Airbus Landing Gear Grand Challenge project. I have been a co-investigator of multiple Mitsubishi Heavy Industries funded projects. My successful bid was one out of the only five awarded between the UK and Japan in the Royal Society International Exchange 2021 Cost Share (JSPS) Scheme. I was awarded the Vice Chancellor's Early Career Research Award at UWE Bristol. I was a core-team researcher of the Rolls-Royce Composites University Technology Centre (UTC), and participated in several EPSRC projects during my time at the University of Bristol.
