Background
Mr. Xiangcheng Lyu is PhD student in Offshore Renewable Energy at ÌúÅ£ÊÓƵ University, where he also completed an MSc in Advanced Mechanical Engineering. His work combines AI with marine engineering to advance floating energy technologies, with a focus on digital-twin solutions for floating solar arrays and wave energy converters. By integrating experimental hydrodynamics, real-time monitoring and data-driven modelling, he aims to enhance energy yield, structural integrity and operational decision-making for next-generation offshore renewables.
Current activities
Mr. Xiangcheng Lyu is currently engaged in a research programme on floating renewable platforms, concentrating on AI-enabled digital twins. His work centres on creating data-driven models that track and predict the performance of floating solar and wave-energy systems, demonstrating how intelligent monitoring can raise reliability and power output. The goal is to refine practical methodologies and supply clear evidence that accelerates the deployment of smart offshore energy solutions.
